OUR LOCATION
We are situated in the Sok Wayah rice field, away from Ubud centre but only 2 kms walk along a quiet rice field path to the main road - Jalan Raya. There's no car access into our field - access during your stay is by scooter or walking.
Your check in will be carefully co-ordinated with our staff. When you arrive they will meet you at the main road and escort you and your luggage by scooter. They will do the same when you depart.
We can organise a transfer from the airport, or from anywhere on the island - just let us know beforehand.
The entrance to the rice field is at Abangan Bungalows (Opposite Lazy Cats Cafe). It's a small driveway, quite easy to miss so make sure you or your driver follow the map carefully. As you approach Abangan, please contact our staff for your arrival, so they can meet you there and transport you and your luggage to The Rice Joglo by scooter.
* AFTER HOURS ARRIVALS : Our day staff take checkins until 630pm. If your arrival in Ubud will be after 630pm we require that you use our local driver who is familiar with our property, and who will liaise with our after hours staff. This will ensure a smooth transfer to the Joglo. Please send us your pickup details and we will book the driver.
**MOBILITY : Please Note , due to lack of car access our property is not suitable for those with mobility issues, or those who do not wish to walk or take a scooter.

GETTING AROUND DURING YOUR STAY
Getting in and out of the rice field is by walking or scooter only. There's no car access into our rice field.
By walk, Ubud centre is around 20 minutes' walk along a level path, lined with coconut trees for shade. Most guests enjoy the rice field walk - it's one of Ubud's key attractions. You will find local warungs, cafes, spas, yoga shalas, local artists and woodcarvers scattered along the path. The path is also popular for bird walks. You'll see farmers tending their fields, and ducks feeding off the remains of the harvest. At dusk the sunset is truly stunning.
At times you might prefer a scooter ride into town. Booking a scooter ride is easy with the GOJEK app - it's the Uber equivalent here for scooters. We recommend you download this free app. The service is quick to order and inexpensive.
If you are an experienced rider you can hire your own scooter - we'll be happy to organise it for you.
