Arrival Instructions
Our properties are situated in the the Sok Wayah rice field, off the main road of Ubud.
There is only ONE entrance into our rice field - ask your driver to take you to Abangan Bungalows on Jalan Raya Ubud. (DON'T USE GOOGLE MAPS - the directions will send you the wrong way)
The main Rice Joglo property houses 6 of our 7 Joglos, with restaurant, farm, gardens and pool. It is 1.8 km from the main road, around 20-25 minutes walk. The Outpost Joglo, the Firefly Joglo, is our only self contained Joglo, situated halfway between the main road and the main property, closer to the main road at 10 minutes walk.
There's no car access into the rice field, keeping our rice fields tranquil. The walk along our rice field path is 20-25 minutes, or 5 minute scooter ride. Along the picturesque path you will find local artists, warungs, yoga shalas, cafes and artisans.
NOTE : Because there is no car access into the rice field, the property may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, or those who do not wish to walk or take a scooter.
GETTING THERE : The entrance is at ABANGAN BUNGALOWS on Jalan Raya Ubud.
PLEASE NOTE : DO NOT use the Google Directions- they will send you to the other side of the river

Your check-in will be carefully co-ordinated with our staff. When you arrive they will meet you at the main road and escort you and your luggage by scooter. They will do the same when you depart.
For your transfer we can organise a car to pick you up - from the airport, or from anywhere on the island. Just let us know and we'll organise it.
* AFTER HOURS ARRIVALS : Our day staff take checkins until 630pm. If your arrival in Ubud will be after 630pm we require that you use our local driver who is familiar with our property, and who will liaise with our after hours staff. Getting around
Getting in and out of the rice field during your stay is by walking or scooter only. Booking a scooter ride is easy with the GOJEK or GRAB apps - the Uber equivalent here for scooters. The service is quick to order and inexpensive - our staff can show you how.
If you are an experienced rider you can hire our own scooter - we'll be happy to organise it for you.
Most guests prefer to walk the picturesque level path into Ubud - the rice field walk is one of Ubud's key attractions. The walk is lined with coconut trees for shade, and you will find local warungs, cafes, spas, yoga shalas, local artists and woodcarvers scattered along the path.
You'll see farmers tending their fields, and ducks feeding off the remains of the harvest. At dusk the sunset is truly stunning. The path is also popular for bird walks.
