Cooking classesDiscover the heart of Bali through traditional local food. In our hands-on cooking class, you will:
- Learn the dishes enjoyed daily by Balinese families - Explore the key principles of traditional cooking - Make authentic Balinese spice pastes from scratch -Pick fresh ingredients straight from our own food farm When the cooking is done, sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you've created. |
Organic Food FarmWe grow a vast selection of fruits, vegetables and herbs taking advantage of Bali's rich volcanic soil. At various times you will see pumpkins, eggplant, carrots, pinepapples, papaya, tomatoes, rocket as well as roots, herbs and spices such as cinnamon, ginger, parsley.
Crops are regularly planted, and rotated for the health of the soil. We love to show our guests how food is traditionally grown in Bali, and the ways in which Balinese farming utilises the natural volcanic soil. Our gardener will be happy to show you the seasonal produce, and how crops are rotated. |
Animal FarmThe animals are part of our commitment to sustainability.
The chickens, ducks and goats make organic compost for the vegetable garden. We don't use chemical fertilisers. The ducks, chickens and guinea pigs eat leftover food scraps to save on waste. Our turtles particularly love everything green like lettuce and other leafy vegetables Our ducks also help our neighbours. Not all the rice farmers have ducks, but they need them at times during the rice field cycle to till the soil. We loan them our ducks when they need it. We love to give our guests the experience of interacting with the animals, and fostering a love of animals in children |
